National Forest Foundation (NFF) seeks a strategic and relationship-driven Associate Director of Corporate Giving to expand and steward corporate partnership strategy to support the health and sustainability of our National Forests. This is a unique opportunity to lead a growing team and shape national-level corporate engagement strategies in a mission-driven organization. The NFF is pleased to offer a regular, full-time position to a candidate who will work remotely and will reside in the United States.

About the NFF: As the official national partner to the US Forest Service (USFS), the National Forest Foundation was chartered by Congress in 1993. Today, the NFF advances forest resiliency, healthy watersheds and wildlife habitat, and recreation for all by working with communities and organizations across the country. The Foundation has grown significantly in the last few years in programmatic impact, revenue and support, and organizational capacity. NFF leads with impact, deploying roughly 90% of its expenses towards projects and programs across the country’s 193-million-acre National Forest System. NFF is forward-thinking and innovative, with ambitious strategies and goals to advance and prepare forests for a new economy.

Position Function: The position will report to the Senior Director of Institutional Giving and is responsible for leading the development and execution of a strategic corporate partnership portfolio that advances the NFF’s mission. This role will focus on cultivating high-impact relationships across industries, expanding corporate investment in forest and water health, wildfire resiliency, and recreation on National Forests and Grasslands, in addition to managing a dynamic team of Corporate Giving Officers. The position requires strategic vision, cross-functional collaboration, and a results-driven approach to partnership growth and stewardship.

Position Duties and Responsibilities: The Associate Director of Corporate Giving will:

  • Assist with facilitating implementation of a comprehensive corporate giving strategy, focusing on key corporate giving/activations with marketing or sustainability, aligned with NFF’s strategic pillars.
  • Analyze and optimize the existing corporate portfolios to identify growth opportunities and deepen engagement.
  • Proactively identify, cultivate, and secure new corporate partnerships through prospecting, relationship-building, and proposal development.
  • Steward existing relationships to ensure long-term engagement and impact.
  • Supervise and coach Corporate Giving Officers, developing and holding gift officers accountable to metrics, providing guidance on portfolio growth, performance improvement, and relationship management.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align corporate giving efforts with programmatic priorities and regional initiatives.
  • Work with marketing and conservation finance teams to implement key relationships and initiatives.
  • Work with Advancement Operations team to provide key cultivation and stewardship activities.
  • Develop toolkits that allow local conservation teams to cultivate, solicit and steward smaller regional gifts for projects.
  • Lead the development of compelling proposals, sponsorship packages, and cause-marketing initiatives.
  • Manage grant applications, reporting, and compliance for corporate-funded projects.
  • Monitor trends in corporate philanthropy, sustainability targets, and nature-based solutions to inform strategy.
  • Maintain a national prospecting list and track engagement metrics.
  • Provide editorial and quality assurance support for proposals and reports.
  • Represent NFF externally at corporate meetings, conferences, and events.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned

Education and Qualifications: NFF expects the Associate Director of Corporate Giving to possess the following educational and experiential qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five years’ experience with proven results in corporate fundraising, partnership development, or institutional giving
  • Management experience is preferred
  • Experience and interest in conservation issues in a nonprofit environment preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, including report writing, project management, editing, and coordination across multiple teams
  • Attention to detail and the ability to track multiple deadlines, deliverables, and projects concurrently
  • Demonstrated proficiency in common office procedures and software, including Microsoft 365 and Office Suite and CRM systems

  • Represent the NFF with diverse partners and funders in a clear and professional manner through excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
  • Offer corporate fundraising leadership and guidance to field staff
  • Execute both national and regional fundraising and partnerships goals
  • Build relationships by communicating the NFF mission and discussing NFF programs and projects with professionalism, enthusiasm, passion, candor, and nuance
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Function in a team-centric environment with integrity, resilience, flexibility, and a sense of humor
  • Ability to occasionally travel (estimated four to six times a year) and occasionally work evenings and/or weekends

Location: The location for this position is flexible throughout the lower 48 states. This position is a remote/work-from-home position and requires reliable internet access and a dedicated workspace.

Compensation: NFF offers a competitive compensation and benefits package that reflects our total rewards strategy. The starting salary range for this position is $96,900 to $114,075, with the ability to grow to $131,250 based on performance outcomes over time and assessed annually.
