National Fleet Management is seeking skilled and motivated individuals to join our team as a Diesel Technicians (24/7 Availability - Emergency Roadside) at our Statesville, NC location. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small trucks up to Class 8 vehicles. Works with the assistance of diagnostic software when performing emergency roadside repairs. Task assignments are directed by shop management to encourage skill development in a productive manner.

Job Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle inspections and diagnostics to determine necessary repairs.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles and heavy equipment.
- Diagnose and repair power and drive trains, electrical systems, fuel and emissions, brakes, steering, HVAC, valve mechanisms, clutches, hydraulics, and transmissions.
- Utilize diagnostic software to assess and troubleshoot vehicle issues.
- DPF system diagnostics and maintenance.
- Conduct test drives to ensure proper repairs and vehicle performance.
- Maintain accurate repair documentation and service logs.
- Follow safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors regarding vehicle status and required repairs.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining necessary repairs and estimated completion times.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Diesel Technician.
- Experience working on small trucks up to Class 8 vehicles is required.
- Strong knowledge of DPF & diagnostics across multiple brands and fuel types.
- Proficiency in diesel engine diagnostic software.
- Experience with Cummins, Isuzu, Allison Transmissions, and other major truck components preferred.
- Ability to safely and efficiently use power tools, machine tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Valid Driver’s License (CDL Class A preferred).
- Must have own tools.
- High school diploma or GED required; Diesel Technician or Mechanic Degree preferred.
- FMCSR Annual Inspection Certification and A/C Certification are preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, lift 50 lbs. regularly and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and working in confined spaces.
- Exposure to noise, exhaust fumes, battery acid, and cleaning chemicals.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay-for-Performance Compensation:
Earn $25 to $45 per hour on a performance-based pay scale.
Annual salary of approximately $72,000 to $163,000 depending on your skill level, experience, and efficiency.
