Freight Broker

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Freight Broker to join our team. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong work ethic, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced logistics environment. This role is responsible for developing customer relationships, coordinating freight shipments, negotiating rates, and ensuring freight moves efficiently from pickup to delivery while delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with shippers, carriers, and customers.
• Source and secure transportation capacity to meet customer shipping needs.
• Negotiate competitive freight rates with carriers and customers.
• Coordinate and monitor shipments from pickup through delivery.
• Resolve service issues, delays, and unexpected transportation challenges quickly and professionally.
• Track loads and provide timely updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation within transportation management systems.
• Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and generate new business.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, transportation regulations, and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental and company goals.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Associate's degree or higher.
• Preferred: Minimum of 12 months of experience in the logistics, transportation, or freight brokerage industry.
• Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with computer software, online resources, and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and transportation management systems.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
