NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55 ) with the Natural Resources Conservation Services (NRCS). These are experienced professionals who provide technical and professional assistance to the Department of Agriculture for the Agriculture Conservation Experienced Services (ACES) Program.

Qualifications
Minimum of 15 year(s) of experience in Developing and presenting conservation practice technical assistance to landowners and training of employees in engineering assistance OR BA/BS Degree in Civil engineering, environmental engineering, biological technology.
Assist the Area Office Engineering department with providing customers, NREC Staff and partners with technical assistance, engineering surveys, designs, training, guidance and Farm Bill Program delivery.

Qualifications
Minimum of 15 year(s) of experience in Developing and presenting conservation practice technical assistance to landowners and training of employees in engineering assistance OR BA/BS Degree in Civil engineering, environmental engineering, biological technology.
- Knowledge of design, layout, and checkout of engineered conservation practices. Working knowledge of
- AutoCAD Civil 3D or equivalent computer programs for development of standard drawings. Knowledge of NRCS Farm Bill Programs.
- Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, ARCVIEW (GIS)
- Surveying software and procedures.
Assist the Area Office Engineering department with providing customers, NREC Staff and partners with technical assistance, engineering surveys, designs, training, guidance and Farm Bill Program delivery.
- Develops engineer designs from completed surveys utilizing Total station and GPS equipment and related software. 30%
- Provides training to Field Office staff on surveying design and layout, and completion of associated design work appropriate for the employee?s discipline. 30%
- Gathers complete planning data on complex enterprise land units for the purpose of assisting Field Office staff with development of engineer designs and conservation planning. 20%
- Assists Field Offices with delivery of engineering services to clientele. 15%
- Assist development of state standards, specifications, engineering tools, typical drawings, guidance documents, checklists, training presentations and operating procedures, and other duties as assigned. 5%
- Construction Inspection Safety Training.
- As needed.
- Required Certifications: Valid State Driver's license.
- Travel Requirements: On occasion to attend meetings and for field visits; GOV will be provided as necessary and available.
- Overnight travel: Infrequently.
- Health and Safety Considerations: Construction inspection safety training.
- Required Safety Gear: During construction inspection work: hard hat, composite/or steel toed shoes, safety vest.
