The Role

Core Purpose
Maintain operational excellence through comprehensive warehouse management, fleet coordination, and inventory optimization that directly enables our field technicians to deliver same-day response and first-time fix service. This hands-on role ensures our physical assets, inventory systems, and warehouse operations support the service excellence that differentiates NES in the Southern California market.
What You'll Do
Warehouse Management & Organization (35%)
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment through daily inspections and proactive maintenance
- Organize parts storage systems to enable efficient retrieval and distribution
- Implement and maintain warehouse layout optimization for workflow efficiency
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and OSHA standards for warehouse operations
- Manage waste removal, recycling programs, and facility cleanliness
- Coordinate warehouse improvements and space utilization projects
Inventory Management & Optimization (30%)
- Conduct regular cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain system accuracy
- Monitor inventory levels and proactively place orders before stockouts occur
- Receive, inspect, and process all incoming inventory deliveries
- Allocate and distribute inventory to technician trucks and parts vehicles
- Run inventory reports to identify trends, usage patterns, and optimization opportunities
- Identify new inventory items to stock that reduce material costs and improve service delivery
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies and coordinate with team for approval on adjustments
- Maintain accurate inventory records in ServiceTitan
Fleet & Asset Management (20%)
- Schedule and coordinate vehicle maintenance appointments for entire company fleet
- Maintain comprehensive maintenance records and service history for all vehicles
- Monitor vehicle condition and proactively address maintenance needs
- Coordinate vehicle stocking to ensure technicians have necessary tools and materials
- Track fleet assets including tools, equipment, and company property
- Manage vehicle registration, inspection compliance, and documentation
Vendor Relations & Cost Optimization (10%)
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers regarding inventory needs and delivery coordination
- Collaborate with Parts Coordinator on vendor management and pricing negotiations
- Research opportunities for better pricing on recurring inventory items
- Support cost reduction initiatives through strategic inventory planning
- Obtain approval from leadership before implementing vendor or pricing changes
Cross-Functional Support & Project Coordination (5%)
- Collaborate closely with Parts Coordinator on job staging and project material preparation
- Assist with physically loading parts and materials into technician and project vehicles
- Support Project Coordinator with material staging for installations and large projects
- Coordinate with field technicians on inventory needs and special requests
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to operational improvement initiatives
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, or logistics
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency with inventory management systems and basic computer skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Physical ability to meet the demands described below
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Warehouse safety certifications (OSHA, etc.)
- Experience with ServiceTitan or similar field service management platforms
- Knowledge of dock equipment, commercial doors, or industrial products
- Fleet management or vehicle maintenance coordination experience
- Experience in service-based or construction industry warehouse operations

This position requires regular physical activity in a warehouse environment, including:
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials up to 50 pounds regularly, with occasional lifting up to the maximum allowed by California state law with assistance
- Standing and walking for extended periods throughout the workday
- Bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching to organize inventory and maintain warehouse
- Working at heights using ladders and elevated platforms (with appropriate safety equipment and training)
- Operating warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks (training provided)
- Working in varying temperature conditions (warehouse environment)
- Exposure to dust, dirt, and warehouse conditions typical of industrial operations
