JOB DESCRIPTION
National Enrichment Group seeks several reliable, self-motivated, independent, fun-loving, youth Martial Arts Instructors to join our team. The successful martial arts instructor ensures that lessons remain fun and engaging while encouraging a deep respect for oneself and others. Ultimately, the instructor will develop students' confidence in their abilities. Instructors must be able to successfully adopt a creative, fun, and energetic learning approach while promoting and instilling values of respect and passion. The instructor must be enthusiastic and exhibit a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to the communities we serve, and demonstrate the ability to motivate, inspire, and
educate.
Duties include:
- Leading martial arts classes for youth aged 4 - 5 years old.
- Creating curriculum & lesson plans for each session.
- Facilitating classes that follow a social group work model
- Responsible for managing a classroom of 15-20 students
- Prep for classes: arriving 15 minutes early to set up and prepare to start class on time.
- Clean up: must leave locations in condition found, or cleaner.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with staff, parents, and scholars.
- Follow up after classes with NYEG Director of Operations.
- Maintain a positive, healthy, safe, supportive and welcoming environment.
Requirements:
- Candidate should be highly responsible, reliable, punctual, flexible, outspoken, honest, self-motivated, and work with integrity. This is an independent role, with little direct supervision.
- Candidate should be comfortable working with children, and comfortable working independently leading a class of students. Candidate should be a clear communicator, have a positive attitude, and be able to effectively manage a classroom.
- Relevant performance experience
Preferred but not necessary:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- At least 2 years of experience working with youth
- Teaching experience and classroom management skills
- A knowledge of, and willingness to teach martial arts fundamentals
