POSITION OVERVIEWNY Enrichment Group is seeking a talented and engaging Middle Eastern Belly Dance Performer to entertain and connect with older adults in community senior programs. The ideal performer will bring cultural authenticity, joy, and warmth to each event—creating an uplifting atmosphere through music, movement, and storytelling. Performances may include demonstrations, light audience engagement, and opportunities for seniors to participate in gentle rhythmic movement. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPerform culturally authentic Middle Eastern belly dance pieces tailored to senior audiences.Create a welcoming and joyful experience through music, movement, and friendly interaction.Share brief cultural or historical context related to the dance, music, or traditions.Encourage light audience participation as appropriate (e.g., clapping, simple movements).Coordinate with NYEG staff and onsite personnel regarding setup, timing, and program flow.Arrive on time and manage any personal costumes, music, or equipment needed for the performance. REQUIREMENTSExperience performing Middle Eastern belly dance professionally.Warm, respectful, and engaging demeanor suitable for older adult audiences.Ability to adapt performance style to the comfort and abilities of seniors.Reliable, punctual, and professional communication skills.
