Description

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our GPO Services team with a focus on expanding our distributor and membership base and enhancing distributor and member satisfaction and value realization. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and acquiring new distributors and members, while also driving deeper utilization, engagement, and retention among existing distributors and members. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, account management, and relationship building, with a deep understanding of the GPO landscape and supply chain for medical products and pharmaceuticals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development Strategy:
    • Develop and execute a targeted business development strategy to attract new distributors and members and improve utilization among existing distributors and members.
    • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities that align with distributor and member needs and company objectives.
    • Set and achieve growth targets related to distributor/member acquisition and retention.
  • Client Acquisition & Relationship Management:
    • Identify potential distributors and members and engage them with compelling presentations that articulate the value of joining the GPO.
    • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers at distributor and member organizations.
    • Close deals with new distributors, ensuring that onboarding processes are smooth and aligned with their expectations.
  • Member Retention & Growth:
    • Develop and implement strategies to increase distributor and member engagement and satisfaction, ensuring they derive maximum value from their GPO affiliation.
    • Regularly engage with existing distributors and members to understand their evolving needs and adapt GPO offerings accordingly.
    • Identify opportunities to cross-sell or upsell additional services and products that align with distributors and members’ strategic goals.
    • Monitor satisfaction levels through surveys and direct feedback, addressing any issues promptly to maintain high retention rates.
  • Reporting & Analysis:
    • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to member acquisition, retention, engagement, and satisfaction.
    • Provide regular updates to senior management on growth strategies and outcomes.
    • Use data and analytics to refine strategies and enhance distributor and member relations efforts.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns aimed at attracting and retaining distributors and members.
    • Work closely with the operations team to ensure seamless distributor and member onboarding and ongoing support.
    • Participate in industry events and networking opportunities to expand the company’s presence and build relationships with potential distributors and members.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus; or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably within a GPO or healthcare distribution environment.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving member engagement.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
