What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior IT Services Engineer position at National Data Solutions?
Purpose
The Senior IT Services Engineer & RevTech Deployment Lead is the hands-on owner of NDS's local IT service offering and the primary technical point of contact for existing local IT customers. This is an individual-contributor role with no direct reports: the person in this seat personally travels to client locations to install, replace, upgrade, and troubleshoot equipment, and takes direct calls from customers who need a responsive, knowledgeable resource. The role also leads deployment of RevTech Partners' RCM SaaS products into client environments. Deep, practical knowledge of dental and small-business IT environments — including getting data out of dental/medical EHR and practice management systems — is essential.
Core Responsibilities
----Must have established Indiana Residency----
Local IT Service Delivery (Hands-On)
• Personally travel to client sites to install, replace, upgrade, and troubleshoot firewalls, servers, desktops/workstations, phone systems, and other small-business IT equipment.
• Serve as the direct, responsive point of contact for customers who call in with issues — respond promptly and resolve or triage on the spot.
• Own day-to-day health of client environments: patching, antivirus/endpoint monitoring, backup verification, and remediation of issues surfaced by the RMM platform (NinjaOne) and other monitoring tools.
• Apply strong working knowledge of dental-practice IT environments and workflows, including extracting and exporting data from dental and medical EHR/practice-management systems for reporting, migrations, or RevTech integration work.
• Use existing SOW/MSA templates and price sheets to scope and quote new client engagements and out-of-scope project work.
• Stay current on and help adopt new automation tooling as it is rolled out (RMM and beyond).
Customer Reporting & Risk Remediation
• Prepare and personally deliver monthly report readouts to small-business clients, covering system health, backup status, and open items.
• Educate client stakeholders (often practice owners or office managers, not technical staff) on identified risks and walk them through remediation project options in plain language.
• Maintain and prioritize each client's remediation backlog, recommending next projects based on risk and business impact.
RevTech Product Deployment Leadership
• Lead deployment of RevTech Partners' RCM platform suite (InsightFlow, NDS DataVault, ExoComp, ReconIQ) into client environments, from kickoff through go-live and hypercare, typically against 14-day go-live SLAs per practice.
• Extract and prepare data feeds from client PMS/EHR systems for RevTech's ETL/DataVault integration.
• Coordinate Azure subscription/tenant setup and basic database/schema configuration for RevTech deployments, or work directly with RevTech's engineering team on these tasks.
• Run discovery sessions and UAT with client stakeholders, and deliver go-live sign-off and basic training/SOP documentation.
Security & Compliance
• Follow HIPAA, HITECH, and SOC 2 Type II-aligned practices when handling client data and systems, given the dental/healthcare client base.
• Maintain access control, encryption, and backup practices on client systems in line with each client's MSA/SOW commitments.
Minimum Candidate Qualifications
• 3-5 years of hands-on IT support/field engineering experience, ideally within an MSP or small-business IT environment.
• Strong, demonstrable dental-practice IT knowledge: common PMS platforms, dental-specific hardware/imaging integrations, and typical practice workflows.
• Experience extracting data from dental and/or medical EHR and practice-management systems.
• Solid troubleshooting and installation skills across firewalls, servers, desktops/workstations, VoIP/phone systems, and general small-business network equipment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Intune/Endpoint Manager, and basic Azure administration.
• Comfort using an RMM platform (NinjaOne or similar) for day-to-day monitoring and remediation.
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly to client sites and respond promptly to direct customer calls.
Minimum Interpersonal Qualifications
• Polished, patient, and customer-experience focused — comfortable explaining technical risk to non-technical practice owners/office managers.
• Highly responsive; treats direct customer calls as a priority, not an interruption.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently without a manager or team on-site.
• Detail-oriented in documentation and reporting (monthly readouts, deployment SOPs).
• Learning-obsessed — picks up new automation tooling and RevTech product updates quickly.
Preferred Supplemental Qualifications
• CompTIA A , Network , or Security certification.
• Azure Administrator (AZ-104) or similar cloud certification.
• Prior experience supporting dental or medical practices specifically (as opposed to general SMB IT).
• Familiarity with RCM (revenue cycle management) workflows or healthcare billing operations.
• Experience with NinjaOne RMM specifically.
$90,000 - $120,000 base, plus incentive bonus up to 10%, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k with 50% match, unlimited PTO.
