Position Summary
National Custom Printing is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Thermal Transfer Printing Operator to operate thermal transfer printing equipment used to produce high-quality labels and related printed products.
The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, and able to maintain consistent print quality while meeting production schedules.
Primary Responsibilities
• Set up and operate thermal transfer printers and related label-production equipment.
• Load label stock, ribbons, and other required materials.
• Set up print jobs according to customer specifications and production work orders.
• Verify label size, copy, barcode information, print position, and overall print quality before beginning production.
• Monitor printing throughout the production run for consistency and defects.
• Make necessary adjustments to print position, darkness, speed, and other machine settings.
• Inspect finished labels for print quality, registration, readability, and accuracy.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance on printing equipment.
• Maintain accurate production counts and job records.
• Properly identify and package completed jobs.
• Keep equipment and the surrounding production area clean and organized.
• Minimize material and ribbon waste whenever possible.
• Communicate material, equipment, or quality problems to the Production Manager.
• Assist with rewinding, inspection, packaging, shipping, and other production duties as needed.
• Follow all company quality procedures and safety requirements.
Qualifications
• Previous experience with thermal transfer printing, label printing, r manufacturing is preferred but not required.
• Good mechanical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to read and follow job tickets, specifications, and written instructions.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to accurately use measuring tools such as rulers and calipers.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently after proper training.
• Willingness to learn different materials, ribbons, adhesives, and printing requirements.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift approximately 40–50 poundswhen necessary.
• Ability to bend, reach, and move materials throughout the production area.
• Ability to visually inspect small print, barcodes, and label defects.
