The NCS Business and Process Analyst (BPA) is responsible for gathering and analyzing data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to enhance organizational efficiency, supporting key business initiatives, driving informed decision-making, and ultimately leveraging the data findings to own process improvements within the organization.

The BPA will lead day-to-day reporting responsibilities with our reporting partners and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, monitor, and report on KPIs and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) related to cycle times and quality metrics. This role also contributes to the development of business policies, procedures, training materials, and user guides, ensuring all documentation remains current and aligned with evolving business needs.

In addition, the BPA will troubleshoot data and process issues, analyze workflows, manage project tracking efforts, and recommend improvements to optimize business performance as well as own the data systems the business uses to make most decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with leadership to monitor team performance against KPI and SLA targets and own continuous improvement efforts.
  • Serve as the primary business owner of reporting systems and dashboards, partnering with technical resources for enhancement and optimization.
  • Conduct detailed data analysis to identify issues and recommend corrective actions to stakeholders.
  • Define and prioritize reporting requirements in clear, actionable formats.
  • Develop detailed report specifications, including metrics, data sources, filters, and visualization requirements. Collaborate with developers to ensure accurate implementation of report specifications.
  • Develops strong relationships with outside developers to create standardized dashboards and reporting tools to communicate performance insights to senior management, enabling proactive operational improvements.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of KPI frameworks to adapt to evolving business priorities and ensure relevance and impact in driving organizational success.
  • Collaborate with the SVP, Operations to align resource availability with business demand and capacity.
  • Support ongoing management of business products, processes, assets, and training initiatives.
  • Gather and document business requirements via interviews, surveys, workflows, and storyboards.
  • Define or support project scopes and success criteria; collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize and communicate requirements.
  • Develop and maintain internal documentation, including training materials, policy guides, and performance resources, ensuring version control and accessibility.
  • Support ongoing product, data, documentation, and training objectives
  • Provide adhoc support to operational teams in data processing and troubleshooting.

Required Experience:

  • Experience with process improvement methodologies, data collection, and performance analysis.
  • Proven ability to manage and report on complex datasets.
  • Skilled in presenting data insights using visualization tools to support recommendations.
  • Background in working with highvolume data in collaborative team environments.

Characteristics that will set you apart:

  • 5 or more years as a business analyst within the mortgage vertical.
  • You have implemented reporting software in a prior role.
  • You worked at a startup (Series B or earlier) in the past.
  • Handson experience with project management.
  • You have worked with executive level coworkers in the past.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, with advanced skills in Excel; strong knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and PowerBI or visualization tools.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Highly analytical and detailoriented, with strong problemsolving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent coursework and certification).
  • Strong interpersonal and listening skills; proven ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Selfmotivated and dependable, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage projects in a fastpaced environment.
  • Team oriented with a proactive, handson approach to collaboration.
