We are seeking a highly motivated Application Architect / Business Analyst to join our Plant Systems Team. This role will initially focus on hands-on tasks to gain a deep understanding of our current business processes as well as architecture and development processes. Responsibilities will evolve to include working with internal stakeholders to resolve system issues, define scope of requests, estimate efforts, create technical specifications, and eventually facilitate execution in partnership with offshore development teams.
This position is critical to having the bandwidth to support newly announced capital investment initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, prioritize, and resolve user requests and system notifications
- Create and execute test plans to ensure customer specifications are being met.
- Track and report the status of work items.
- Deliver code that meets all customer requirements for functionality and performance.
- Interact professionally with customers to gather requirements, share data/information or provide reporting.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or Information Technology (or comparable technical field experience).
- 5 - 10 years of systems / information technology experience. A strong candidate should have experience in applications systems development, testing and defect resolution.
- 5 - 10 years of experience with COBOL, DB2, CICS, IMS DB/DC, JCL and TSO/ISPF in an IBM MVS mainframe environment.
- Strong understanding of IT application and delivery processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience developing / supporting applications within the metals or other manufacturing / industrial context.
- Experience in developing / supporting scheduling and inventory applications
- Proven ability to work effectively with offshore development teams
