Janitorial Crew Member | Laurel, MD
NCIA is hiring reliable, hard‑working Janitorial Crew Members for our I‑95 North Welcome Center contract site in Laurel, Maryland. This is an essential role that directly impacts the safety, cleanliness, and welcoming experience of the facilities used by staff, travelers, and the community.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
As a Janitorial Crew Member, you’ll help maintain clean, sanitary, and well‑maintained facilities that meet contract and safety standards. Duties may vary by site but typically include:
Custodial & Cleaning Duties
- Thoroughly clean and disinfect restrooms (toilets, urinals, sinks, counters, partitions, door handles)
- Sweep, mop, and maintain floors
- Clean mirrors, glass surfaces, fixtures, and light covers; replace bulbs when needed
- Clean and disinfect high‑touch surfaces
- Refill restroom supplies (toilet paper, soap, paper towels)
- Empty trash and replace liners
- Clean vending areas, utility rooms, water fountains, foyers, walls, signage, and painted surfaces
- Ensure restrooms are odor‑free, functional, and welcoming
Exterior & Grounds Maintenance (as required by contract)
- Remove trash and debris from sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and parking lots
- Maintain exterior areas, including lawns and garden spaces
- Clean picnic tables, slabs, and shelters
Supplies & Equipment
- Store cleaning supplies and equipment safely and securely
- Monitor inventory and report supply shortages
Additional & Seasonal Duties
- Assist with snow and ice removal from walkways, roadways, and parking areas
- Clean interior and exterior windows twice per year
- Complete additional tasks as assigned to support contract operations
