Duties
Oversee daily operations of the NCSO, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of scheduling and eligibility services. Ensures call center performance goals-such as average speed of answer, hold time, and abandoned call rates-are met. Maintains effective technological and telephony systems to support operations. Provides guidance to staff on program requirements, projects, and procedural updates. Ensures compliance with personnel policies, EEO laws, and VA regulations. Evaluates staff performance and maintains effective working relationships across the organization.
Oversees eligibility determinations and interment scheduling processes. Ensure accurate data entry into NGA systems and monitor data quality. Supports budget development and monitoring, including annual estimates and new initiatives. Serves as purchase card and travel card approving official. Oversees facility-related responsibilities for the VA leased NCSO office space, ensuring a safe work environment. Ensure staff have appropriate systems access, training, and technical resources. Directly supervises two GS-13 Division Chiefs and administrative support staff.
Performs public outreach as needed.
Work schedule: Required to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. May include occasional weekends.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements within 45 days of the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-14 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-13. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.
