Job Description
As the Manager of Financial Reporting and Planning you will report directly to the CFO and have one direct report. You will play a crucial role in guiding the organization's financial strategy. In this role, your responsibilities will include full monthly detailed P&L forecasting by division/department, reporting, and annual budgeting for the entire organization. You will be a key connector between program managers and Finance and must have strong communication skills. Your leadership will be essential in accurately forecasting financial performance.
This is an on-site position with a two-day per week hybrid option, and the work schedule is full time (40 hours per week).

About The Role
Annual Budget Process:
- Coordinate and drive the annual budget process for the organization
- Collaborate closely with department leads on updates and changes to previous annual budgets
- Coordinate with program managers regarding final amendments to annual budgets
- Maintain detailed financial models to support business decisions, including full monthly P&L forecasting by division and department
- Analyze financial performance and prepare reports on key metrics to support business initiatives
- Create and maintain operational tools to be used by program managers to run their programs more efficiently
- Work cross functionally to drive and lead the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational goals
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Collaborate closely with the Controller and Accounting Department to ensure alignment and understanding of results for the month/year
- Collaborate on month-end and year-end closing activities with Accounting to ensure accurate and timely forecasts
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to provide financial insights and recommendations that drive effective business decisions
- Maintain detailed reporting systems to provide timely and accurate forecasts
- Create dashboards for executive leadership, highlighting key financial metrics and business insights.
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across all financial reports and systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 10 years of experience including experience as an Assistant Controller/Controller, preferably in a complex funding environment
- 3 years of experience in financial statement preparation
- Strong leadership and management skills
- High-level Excel user with extensive experience in financial modeling, data analysis and predictive modeling
- Expertise in data analytics tools and techniques, database management, and reporting systems (Great Plains)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex, detailed data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
- Detail-oriented and not opposed to spending a lot of time working with very detailed models/spreadsheets
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- A focus on accuracy and quality
- Collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively across teams and departments
