SUMMARY
The Silo Crew Member is responsible for assisting in the assembly and installation of corrugated silos at customer sites across the United States. Working under the direction of the Silo Crew Lead, this role involves hands-on mechanical work, traveling regularly (80-90%), and performing installations both indoors and outdoors in varying environments.
This position will require travel (estimated 80-90%).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the assembly and installation of corrugated silos and related equipment at customer facilities.
- Follow direction from the Silo Crew Lead to complete assigned tasks efficiently and safely.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment to assemble and secure silo components.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with NBE safety policies and procedures.
- Travel frequently to customer sites across the United States; duration of trips may range from several days to several weeks.
- Work in various environments, including indoor facilities and outdoor construction sites, in different weather conditions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, both on-site and during travel.
- Communicate effectively with team members and represent NBE in a professional manner at customer sites.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the successful completion of installations.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Prior experience in mechanical assembly, construction, or industrial installation preferred.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems, hand and power tool use, and safe lifting practices required.
- Ability to read and follow assembly drawings, blueprints, or written instructions a plus.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively for extended periods.
- Ability to work at heights and in physically demanding environments required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to lift, carry, and position materials and equipment weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Frequent standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, and reaching required.
- Comfortable working at elevated heights using ladders, cranes, lifts, or scaffolding.
- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions, including heat, cold, and inclement weather.
- Extended periods of travel and physical activity required during installation projects.
