As Needed – Nonexempt
Schedule & Shifts – As needed. One shift consisting of Monday (9:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.) and Thursday (3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.). Two shifts, Friday-Sunday - one shift (9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) second shift, (3:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.) Hours may fluctuate as the program is established.
National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE) – Our New Assessment Center: Coming March 2026. Join the NBCE team as we open our new state of the art Assessment Center to administer pre-licensure examinations for chiropractic examinees! Our Part IV exam is a practical, clinical assessment designed to test the examinee’s hands-on skills. We are now hiring Shuttle Drivers to provide safe and timely transportation for our examinees between the Denver International Airport, hotel and Assessment Center.
ROLE SUMMARY:
The Shuttle Driver is responsible for safely transporting passengers, primarily examinees, between the airport, hotel, and National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE) on-campus test site using a van or similar vehicle that does not require a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). The Shuttle Driver is responsible for providing passengers with excellent customer service, and a safe, comfortable, and timely transportation experience. They are to ensure the vehicle’s cleanliness and operational condition and adhere to all traffic regulations and company policies. This role requires a high level of professionalism, reliability, and discretion in a high-stakes testing environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Passenger Transport
- Safely operate a shuttle vehicle (i.e., a vehicle with a capacity of 12 passengers or fewer, including the driver, and that typically falls between 8,550 - and 10,100 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) to transport passengers to their designated destinations according to a pre-determined schedule.
- Provide timely and courteous transportation between designated pick-up and drop-off points, including the airport, hotel, and NBCE on-campus test site, and communicate any delays or issues to the department manager or other designated individuals.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely pick-up and drop-off of passengers.
Customer Service
- Greet passengers in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner to ensure a positive experience.
- Assist passengers in boarding and exiting the vehicle, including assisting with luggage and other personal items.
- Check the vehicle for any items left by passengers (e.g., purses, wallets, phones, electronic devices) and return them to the rightful owner or the lost and found at the NBCE Test site.
- Deliver clear, helpful information about shuttle schedules and respond to all passenger inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Vehicle Maintenance
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections according to policy using the checklist provided.
- Report any maintenance needs or mechanical issues to the department manager or other designated staff member.
- Ensure the vehicle is properly fueled, maintained, and the interior and exterior are clean for daily operations. Fuel the vehicle and take it through a car wash weekly, or as needed.
Safety Compliance & Emergency Response
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws, as well as company safety protocols and operate the vehicle in a safe and courteous manner, to ensure passenger and public safety.
- Abide by NBCE’s Vehicle Use Policy, including reporting any traffic infractions or accidents in a timely fashion.
- Handle minor emergencies or disruptions calmly and efficiently, following established protocols.
- Help to ensure the safety and competency of our driving team by conducting driving tests for current and potential drivers, as requested, and according to company-established guidelines. Accurately document the results, including feedback on and recommendations regarding the individual’s readiness to drive or need for training or further evaluation.
Recordkeeping
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel usage, and passenger counts, and any incidents or accidents as required by company policy.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have at least 5 years of experience driving.
- Valid Colorado driver’s license with acceptable driving record. A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is not required.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Friendly and professional demeaner with strong communications and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent time management skills; must be reliable and punctual.
- Ability to react to changing conditions in route format, weather, or general driving conditions.
- Visual acuity of 20/40 in at least one eye or both eyes together, with or without correction, and the ability to recognize basic traffic signal colors (i.e., red, green, amber). Must wear corrective glasses or lenses if specified on driver’s license.
- Ability to navigate using GPS or maps.
- Ability to sit and drive for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and to be able to load and unload luggage and other personal items.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Valid Colorado driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle record.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience operating passenger vehicles or shuttle vans preferred.
- Previous customer service experience.
