Major Responsibilities
Deal Sourcing / Research
- Identify investment opportunities through market research and various deal-sourcing channels.
- Conduct initial screening of investment opportunities based on strategic fit, financial viability, and growth potential.
- Conduct research around industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies to inform investment decisions and strategy.
- Develop a company database to track key industry metrics and serve as an internal benchmarking tool.
- Conduct comprehensive due diligence on prospective investments, including financial analysis, market research, competitive landscape assessment, and risk evaluation.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts internally to assess strategic fit and upside potential within the organization.
- Assist in preparing investment recommendations for the Investment Committee and SLT.
- Support portfolio companies by identifying growth opportunities and addressing operational challenges.
- Monitor existing portfolio companies’ performance by tracking key performance indicators and financial metrics, while comparing it to the market.
- Prepare progress reports and presentations to the Investment Committee and Board of Governors.
- Strong analytical ability and proficiency in financial modeling, business valuation, and data analysis
- Familiarity with venture capital / private equity / M&A transactions and processes.
- Knowledge of startup ecosystems, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
- Ability to understand term sheets and identify key issues to negotiate.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data analysis.
- Creative & innovative thinker with analytical & entrepreneurial mindset.
- Team player who can work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment internally and network externally.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Minimum 7 – 10 years of relevant work experience.
