Job Title: Press Operator
Reports To: Department Supervisor
Department: Production
FLSA Status: Nonexempt
Summary: The Press Operator is responsible for running a punch press to produce parts as per customer specifications. This role involves reading and interpreting order sheets, collaborating with the Set Up team and Supervisors, ensuring the production of high-quality tags, and maintaining operational efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Read customer order sheets, verifying spelling and numbering to ensure accurate production.
- Operate punch press machinery to meet or exceed daily productivity goals.
- Move, retrieve, and load materials manually as necessary.
- Conduct thorough quality checks and perform first part approvals to maintain high-quality standards.
- Work proactively to minimize scrap during production runs.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, following all safety rules and regulations meticulously.
- Adhere to all safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities/Certifications:
- General Mechanical Knowledge
- Attention to Detail
- Ability to read small numbers and letters down to 3/64th inch type with or without corrected vision
- English Literacy
- Teamwork
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly/constantly required to engage in repetitive motions, use eye/hand/foot coordination, grasp, handle materials, reach, and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and stoop. Occasionally, the employee is required to crouch, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, push, pull, and talk.
Work Environment: The work environment includes exposure to noise, vibration, and potential hazards from operating machinery. Employees must adhere to safety protocols to mitigate risks and are expected to maintain a clean and organized work area.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $11.00 - $14.00 per hour
