Position Overview:
The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) is seeking an Associate, Strategic Communities, who will play an integral role in the largest manufacturing association in the U.S. You will play a key role in driving the industry’s leading awards programs in addition to a portfolio of virtual and in-person events. From our Washington D.C. headquarters, your role connects you with top leaders from iconic companies such as Hershey’s, S.C. Johnson, Sherwin-Williams, Merck, Whirlpool, and IBM, just to name a few. Reporting to the Senior Content Director of Strategic Communities within the Finance and Administration Division, this role is essential in driving change toward an innovative, digitally-driven manufacturing industry of the future.
The Associate, Strategic Communities will support event and award program operations for the Manufacturing Leadership Council (MLC) and the Innovation Research Interchange (IRI), in coordination with the NAM communications and events teams.
We value in-person collaboration and the sense of community it brings. Therefore, if hired, you will be expected to be in the office at least 4 times per week. Our office is conveniently located in Washington, DC, just steps away from Gallery Place and Metro Center.

A Day in Your Life
- Facilitate the production and distribution of marketing collateral for two awards programs and a full portfolio of in-person and virtual events.
- Schedule and manage logistics, speaker prep calls and speaker materials for both in-person and virtual events.
- Work with the Strategic Communities Operations Manager to enhance, document and share relevant processes to improve team efficiency.
- Maintain updated event content and calendars across digital platforms.
- Administer the logistics of awards programs, including the curation of winner archives and event material coordination.
- Share relevant updates on IRI and MLC programs to keep team members aligned.

- Adept at coordinating across teams, you facilitate key communications to ensure deadline adherence and to adjust schedules as needed.

- Recognized for your integrity and discretion in handling sensitive information.
- Committed to professional development, cool under pressure, and adaptable to evolving organizational needs.
We are looking for Team Players who meet the Following Criteria:
- Proven experience in administrative or coordination roles.
- Proficiency in MS Office and a willingness to adopt new technologies.
- Excellent communication skills, ensuring clarity in all interactions.
- High school diploma holder with relevant certifications favorably considered.

Salary Range: $57,000 – $68,000 annually. This salary range represents a good faith estimate of the lowest to the highest salary for this position. The final salary offered will be based on qualifications and experience.
