Job Description

Responsibilities
- Write/edit and publish breaking news, daily news, sports, weather, and feature stories for the station's website, mobile and social media platforms
- Write compelling, SEO-rich headlines
- Work with Reporters and Assignment Editors to ensure content is posted quickly and accurately
- Work with Producers, Assignment Editors and Managers to ensure cross-promotion of content across all platforms
- Manage livestreams of newscasts, breaking news and special events
- Contribute ideas to help grow the station's digital platforms
- Take part in coverage of special station events (i.e. Preakness, Baltimore Marathon)
- Previous digital editing and writing experience
- Professional experience with non-linear video-editing software (Adobe Premiere or equivalent)
- Demonstrated sound news and editorial judgment
- Adherence to AP Style writing skills
- Basic knowledge of Photoshop and photo editing
- Experience with social media best practices
- Flexibility to work different shifts, holidays on short notice to cover a 24-hour news cycle
- Work well in an environment with frequent interruptions while paying close attention to details
- Proficiency in Photoshop, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other programming languages
- Related military experience will be considered
