Job Responsibilities
- Daily Cash Transactions: Record daily cash transactions accurately in the general ledger.
- Bank Reconciliations: Prepare and reconcile assigned bank accounts on a monthly basis.
- Property & Equipment Ledgers: Assist in maintaining the property and equipment ledgers, including preparing monthly and quarterly reports, and placing equipment tags on items.
- General Ledger Entries & Reconciliations: Prepare general ledger reconciliations and related entries as needed to ensure accuracy in financial records.
- State Premium Tax Reports: Assist in filing quarterly state premium tax reports, year-end state premium tax returns, and supplemental reports.
- Surplus Lines Tax Filings: Help in the monthly and annual filing of surplus lines taxes.
- Special Projects: Take on special requests and projects as directed by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
- Proven experience in financial accounting or bookkeeping, with a strong understanding of general ledger operations.
- Knowledge of financial accounting software and systems.
- Experience with insurance or general ledger software packages is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
