Nation’s is looking for a People Operations Generalist who’s passionate about the restaurant industry, bilingual in Spanish, and ready to make an immediate impact!
You’ll work closely with our SVP of People Operations and Director of Operation to help find, support, and grow the incredible people who support our restaurants. From boots-on-the-ground recruiting to coaching leaders and ensuring compliance, you’ll play a key role in shaping the performance of our teams across multiple locations.
This is a salary position based on-site at our Main Office in El Cerrito, CA with an expectation of working 9am to 6pm. While most of our restaurants (31 locations) are located throughout Northern California, we also have four locations in Texas—with plans to open a fifth Texas location in late 2025.
Your Day-to-Day Will Include:
- Handling employee relations issues: coaching, counseling, and discipline up to leading terminations.
- Visiting restaurants regularly to handle employee relations, develop employees and to recruit talent.
- Managing the full recruitment cycle: post jobs, screen resumes, schedule interviews, plan and host hiring events, and more.
- Onboarding new hires and troubleshoot onboarding issues with Manager and payroll.
- Tracking and managing leaves of absence timely while staying up to date on all relevant labor laws.
- Reviewing schedules and understanding CA hourly employee compliance and team skill sets to ensure optimal operations.
- Analyzing performance reports and collaborating on action plans to drive results.
- Staying ahead of compliance and HR best practices by attending webinars and training independently.
- Jumping in wherever needed to add value, bring solutions, and support our mission.
What We’re Looking For:
- 2 – 3 years of HR experience specifically in employee relations and recruiting. Experience in restaurant or service industry is highly preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business, or related field.
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
- Sharp instincts for solving problems proactively
- High level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Rapid communicator with the confidence to communicate with management constantly.
- Comfortable with UKG (HRIS) and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Valid driver’s license.
Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000
