What You Will Do and How You Will Contribute:
- Support daily store operations by supervising assigned departments or areas of the sales floor, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and in accordance with company policies.
- Lead by example in delivering excellent customer service and reinforcing service standards with team members.
- Provide day-to-day direction and support to associates during assigned shifts, including task delegation, break coverage, and workflow coordination.
- Assist with training and onboarding new team members and provide ongoing coaching to reinforce job expectations, safety practices, and customer service standards.
- Oversee merchandising and inventory activities within assigned areas, including stocking, facing, pricing, signage, and maintaining product presentation.
- Monitor inventory levels in assigned departments and communicate replenishment needs, inventory discrepancies, or product concerns to store leadership.
- Promote and reinforce safety policies and procedures by conducting routine safety observations, addressing hazards promptly, and encouraging safe work practices.
- Assist in resolving customer questions, concerns, and complaints, escalating issues to store management when appropriate.
- Support sales initiatives, seasonal merchandising, and promotional events by ensuring timely execution on the sales floor.
- Help maintain store standards related to cleanliness, organization, equipment, and overall appearance.
- Perform any other duties, within your qualifications and training, as assigned to support store operations and business needs.
What You Will Bring to Our Team:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in retail, business, or leadership is a plus.
- Previous experience in a retail, hardware, lumber, or customer-facing environment required; prior lead or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle customer concerns professionally.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and support a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills, including POS systems and standard business software.
- Strong verbal communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as business needs require.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and follow established procedures.
