Job Purpose
Supports senior technicians in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems while developing
the technical skills, safety awareness, documentation habits, and customer communication abilities
required for independent field work.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians with diagnostics, maintenance, and repair tasks on HVAC systems.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance procedures under supervision, including filter replacement,
coil cleaning, and visual inspections.
- Retrieve tools, parts, and equipment as needed during service calls.
- Observe diagnostic procedures and learn systematic troubleshooting techniques.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of service vehicle and work area.
- Record basic job information and assist with documentation in ServiceTitan.
- Follow safety procedures and use PPE appropriately at all times.
- Maintain professional conduct when interacting with customers and representing the company.
- Assist with equipment startup checks and operational testing under supervision.
- Participate in classroom, online, and on-the-job training programs.
- Demonstrate initiative in learning HVAC components, terminology, and procedures.
Qualifications
- Entry-level HVAC knowledge or technical training preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and strong willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
Requirements & Working Conditions
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
- Ability to lift 75 lbs and perform physical labor for extended periods.
- Ability to work in attics, crawlspaces, rooftops, and outdoor conditions.
- Exposure to heat, cold, dust, and noise.
Compensation
- Hourly pay: $17–$30, depending on experience.
- Overtime eligibility during peak season.
- Profit sharing eligibility tied to service quality (callbacks), documentation compliance, and
productivity.
- Career progression path to Service Technician II.
