Summary of Position: As a Driver's Education Instructor at Nathan's, you will be responsible for preparing clients to become safe and defensive driver's which in turn, saves lives. You will share your knowledge of the state and local laws, how to reduce the risk of a collision and how to prepare for the responsibilities of driving a car in both. You will give practical, real life experiences. Your job is to provide safe, friendly, responsive service to make learning to drive an exceptional experience for our clients. We are a successful local small business that has been around for over thirty years. Most of our clients come to us via word of mouth. We serve people from all walks of life and are looking for compassionate instructors who care about saving lives.
Job functions:
- Instruct students (both teenagers and adults) how to drive behind the wheel of the car (both in car and in the classroom)
- Utilizing our technology for scheduling and communication.
- Respond to communications from the office staff and students in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with office staff and students.
- Maintaining and filing all record cards for all students
- Maintain confidentiality of student and school information.
- Keeping accurate logs of hours, lessons taught, distance etc.
- Maintain the company vehicle and/or any equipment used (company pays for all maintenance, insurance, etc. ) Both in car teaching and in classroom teaching required.
- Must be able to lift and position cones, change a tire if needed and be able to physically respond to any need requiring the passenger side gas/brake In a fast and efficient manner.
- Complete any training needed and/or provided
- Resolve customer complaints in a positive manner and work with management
- Complete other duties as assigned by management

- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 30 pounds.
- Must be willing to instruct students from all backgrounds and experience.
- Must have a flexible schedule and want/be willing to work when needed. This is on average a part time job. We are hiring for a specific client that can ensure a minimum of 15 hours a week or more. During the busy season (summer) hours may exceed full time 40 if available
- Must be able to provide their own transportation to and from the office to pick up vehicles
- Must have a good driving record of with at least ten years of experience and demonstrate good driving habits at all times as this is what we do!
- Must pass a background check, E-verify and be able to be legally employed
- Must be able to obtain a license to teach, we help you do this and pay for it and pay for training. Takes about three weeks to get the license once you turn everything in.
- Great job for retires, bus drivers, social workers, public safety workers etc.
