What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Practical Nurse - Operating Room position at Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home?
Job Purpose: The Licensed Practical Nurse is a care provide who assumes responsibility and accountability for his/her patients within the limits of his/her education and the Nurse Practice Act, taking into account the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs. The limits of the Licensed Practical Nurse’s responsibility defined by hospital policy keeping with the New York State Code, Rules, and Regulations and the NYS Education Department.
Education: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent education. Graduation from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program or completion of required components to satisfy LPN licensing examination. Employee is trained and prepared to care for the age-specific group served in their department.
Licensure/Certification/Registration : Valid New York State registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six (6) months of hire or transfer. Completion of IV course & blood administration course within three (3) months of hire or transfer.
Experience: None.
Preferred: Scrub Nurse experience preferred.
Position will require holiday and weekend rotations
Full-time Sign-on-Bonus: $5,000
