Licensed Practical Nurse - Nursing Home

Job Purpose: The Nursing Home LPN is a care provider who assumes responsibility and accountability for his/her residents within the limits of his/her education and the Nurse Practice Act, taking into account the individual resident’s special physical or age-related needs. The limits of the LPN’s responsibility are defined by Nursing Home policy in keeping with the NYS code, rules, and regulations and the NYS education department. Work is performed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in accordance with the state regulations for LPN, established Hospital and Nursing Home standards, nursing department/unit structure, process and outcome standards, established regulatory and accreditation requirements, and the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the Nursing Home and nursing department taking into account the individual resident’s special physical or age-related needs.
