What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Lab Technologist position at Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home?
JOB PURPOSE The purpose of this job is to perform various chemical, microscopic, morphologic, immunologic, bacteriologic and other tests to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Organize and assesses all work assignments to determine priorities, o segregate test groups and to analyze results. Performs complex laboratory tests according to written protocol. Analyzes, interprets and evaluates the reliability of test results for which he/she is responsible. Exercises independent judgement in the conduct of the clinical laboratory with minimal supervision.
EDUCATION : Possess four (4) year high school or equivalent education, plus B.S. or B.A. degree in medical technology or equivalent or Bachelor’s degree with a major in one of the biological or physical sciences and one year of clinical laboratory experience.
PREFERRED : BSMT/ASCP.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: Preferred ASCP.
EXPERIENCE: Preferable but not required as long as education licensure requirement is met.
