The Staff Accountant will help support our government and commercial business lines. This person will report to our Director of Contracts & Business Administration and will focus on day-to-day accounting operations, billing support and financial reporting. This role is expected to expand over time and take on additional responsibilities as needed to support company growth, new contracts and evolving compliance requirements. This is an in-office role.
Salary: $75k-$90k/year (based on experience)

- Support day-to-day accounting operations including A/P, A/R, invoicing, general ledger maintenance, and journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
- Ensure transactions are recorded accurately and coded to appropriate contracts or indirect pools while monitoring and enforcing accounting policies across government and commercial company divisions
- Assist with cashflow monitoring, bookkeeping and monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings to support accurate financial reporting
- Prepare and maintain cost reports, assist with indirect rate calculations and ensure supporting documents are DCAA compliant and audit ready
- Monitor project costs and ensure accurate billing in accordance with contract terms (e.g, CPFF, T&M and FFP) and applicable FAR/DFARS requirements
- Assist with preparation of required filings and compliance activities, including property taxes, sales & use taxes, workers' compensation audition and other regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate documentation for contracts, invoices, and timekeeping
- Collaboration with senior staff on financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow analysis
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably with a government contractor
- Excellent attention to detail, organization skills, and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong sense of ownership and independence
- A Must - United States Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD clearance
- Familiarly with FAR, DFARS, and DCAA audit requirements
- Proficiency in PROCAS or similar government contracting accounting system
- Strong Excel skills
- Previous experience working with financial planning and analysis (FP & A)
