Responsibilities
- Operate tractor-trailer units equipped for hauling crude oil, condensate, and related freight using manual transmission trucks, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using forklifts or other appropriate equipment, following proper safety procedures.
- Drive route-specific trucks such as tanker products across designated areas.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before and after each shift.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo delivery details, and route documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure proper securing of loads during transit to prevent spills or accidents, especially when hauling hazardous materials like crude oil or condensate.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or unforeseen issues encountered on the road.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, specifically with tractor-trailers or similar heavy-duty trucks used for freight delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to load & unload cargo safely using forklifts or manual handling techniques.
- Prior delivery driver experience involving route driving with a focus on efficiency and safety.
- Experience with operating hazmat tanker trucks.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to tanker hauling and hazardous materials handling where applicable.
