Position Summary
The HR Analyst / Operations Specialist will support core HR and operations activities including recruiting coordination, onboarding, employee data management, basic HR analytics and reporting, and general operational support for project teams. This is a hands-on, junior–mid level role suited for someone who enjoys working with data and people, is highly organized, and is interested in learning the full lifecycle of HR and consulting operations in a DoD contracting environment. You will work closely with leadership, project managers, and corporate operations staff to ensure we hire, support, and retain high-performing talent while meeting compliance and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
HR & Talent Operations
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding activities, including new hire documentation, orientation scheduling, systems access, and exit logistics.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HRIS and related systems in compliance with company policies and federal regulations.
- Help manage benefits enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries by coordinating with HR leadership and external benefits providers.
- Support performance management processes, including tracking timelines, preparing communications, and consolidating feedback.
- Assist in developing and updating HR policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
HR Analytics & Reporting
- Collect, clean, and maintain HR-related data (e.g., headcount, turnover, recruiting pipelines, time-to-fill, training completion).
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc HR reports and dashboards for leadership, using tools such as Excel, HRIS reporting modules, or BI tools.
- Support compensation and labor cost analyses, including salary benchmarking, labor category alignment, and staffing forecasts.
- Identify data trends and provide basic insights and recommendations to improve HR processes and employee experience.
DoW Contracting & Compliance Support
- Assist with tracking and maintaining documentation required for DoD and federal contracts (e.g., labor categories, resumes, certifications, and clearance status).
- Help ensure HR and staffing practices comply with applicable laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, EEO, ADA, FMLA) and relevant contract requirements.
- Support audit and inspection activities by providing accurate, timely HR and staffing data.
- Coordinate with security/FSO teams on onboarding, clearance processing, and documentation as needed.
Operations & Business Support
- Provide general operations support to project and corporate teams, including scheduling, documentation, and process coordination.
- Assist with resource planning and staffing allocations across contracts and internal initiatives.
- Support internal initiatives related to culture, employee engagement, training, and professional development.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by documenting processes, identifying inefficiencies, and suggesting practical enhancements.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Approximately 1–4 years of experience in HR, people operations, recruiting coordination, business operations, or a related role.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with sensitive employee and contract-related data.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs or equivalent functions, charts).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including professional email and document preparation.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Clearance
- DoD security clearance (Secret or ability to obtain and maintain required)
- U.S. citizenship required due to contract requirements
Preferred
- Experience working in a federal contracting, DoD, or consulting environment.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and/or ATS platforms (e.g., Workday, ADP, Paylocity, Greenhouse, Lever, etc.).
- Basic understanding of HR fundamentals (employment law basics, recruiting process, performance management, benefits).
- Experience supporting HR analytics or reporting (e.g., headcount, turnover, recruiting metrics).

Pay: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
