The Evening/Weekend Assistant Manager helps lead daily swim school operations during high-volume evening and weekend hours. This role supports staff supervision, customer service, lesson quality, and facility readiness while helping create a safe, positive, and organized environment for swimmers, families, and team members. The ideal candidate has some previous swim lesson experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage both people and operations in a fast-paced setting.
Weekdays shifts start around 3:00pm. Pay $18 /hour starting depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee evening and weekend operations to ensure lessons, front desk activity, and pool areas run smoothly.
- Supervise, support, and motivate instructors, and customer service staff during assigned shifts.
- Help maintain high lesson quality by coaching staff on curriculum, teaching techniques, and swimmer progression.
- Assist with staff scheduling, shift coverage, training, and on-deck problem solving.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing parent questions, resolving concerns, and building strong relationships with families.
- Ensure all safety procedures, pool rules, and emergency protocols are followed at all times.
- Monitor pool deck and facility conditions to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
- Support enrollment, retention, and overall business goals by helping families with class recommendations and account needs.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as reports, attendance, scheduling systems, and basic cash handling or retail support.
- Work closely with the Manager to uphold company standards and improve team performance.
Qualifications
- Previous swimming lesson instruction experience ideal.
- Previous supervisory, lead, or management experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of swim instruction, water safety, and swimmer skill progression.
- Experience working with children and families in a customer-facing setting.
- Excellent communication, organization, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to stay calm, professional, and solution-oriented during busy shifts.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities at once.
- Availability to work early evenings and weekends is required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a warm, humid pool environment.
