Job Summary
Assist business team in analysis, definition and documentation of complex business rules, configuration, and processes. Configure/code/develop/implement product, business, functionality, and process rules leveraging vendor solutions and tools within vendor platforms (ex. Titanium, ADMI, FireLight, and UnderwritingPro). Responsible for developing/exercising unit test plans and assisting in the development of the system test and integrated test strategies. Analyzes, prioritizes and corrects defects as identified.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with business teams to define and document complex Nassau business rules and product configurations
- Implement, configure, code and manage required rules and processes using vendor systems (Titanium, ADMI, FireLight, UnderwritingPro) and tools
- Work closely with vendor management and staff to ensure appropriate systems operation.
- Provide a combination of technical and business expertise as it relates to product calculations and solving business problems
- Ensure deliverables are of a high quality and meet expected dates; accuracy of work affects overall profitability of Nassau product portfolio
- Ensure adherence to development standards and practices
- Interact daily with business and Information Technology management and staff
- Know and adhere to Change Control procedures
- Partner with Quality Assurance Analysts to ensure comprehensive test plans are developed
- Develop/write test plans based upon business and technical requirements/specifications
- Provide creative solutions to business problems utilizing business knowledge and technology expertise.
- Interpret and understand documentation from areas such as Actuarial, Legal, Senior Management. Translate and combine with Individual Line business requirements to produce Business specifications/use cases.
- Execute test plans, and interpret/report results
- Create and maintain complex Nassau business rules
- Documentation diligence in documenting and managing large and complex business and product rule sets
- Ability to identify system defects using specifications and testing models. Ability to provide sufficient details about cause and symptoms to facilitate resolution. Ensure resolution of defects.
- Work with Senior Analyst and/or Project Manager to create project documentation including, but not limited to, scope document, project plan, issues document, test strategy and test plan.
- Participate in lessons learned sessions postproduction
- Perform miscellaneous duties as required by management
- Must maintain appropriate attendance
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Minimum 3 years of Life and Annuity Product experience
- Overall systems developer mentality with good logic comprehension and moderate programming skills; analytical with a technical aptitude
- Solid understanding of the Life and Annuity business including product calculations; general understanding of underwriting concepts, new business and Life and Annuity sales processes
- Strong work ethic and drive; self motivator
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Broad industry experience with the development and implementation of business process systems and solutions is highly desirable
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience working as a Business/Requirements Analyst is a plus
- Strategic thinker
- Demonstrated attentiveness to detail and accuracy
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills, excellent organizational and time management skills, task oriented
- Ability to work within a diverse, matrix/team environment including business partners, consultants, and vendors.
- Ability to work independently, multitask and focus on critical path deliverables
- Formal project lifecycle methodology experience (SDLC, Iterative-Phase, RAD, Agile, etc.)
- Proficient in JIRA, SharePoint

The base salary for this position falls within the range of $75,000-$120,000 depending upon experience.
