What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) School Program 1:1 Support position at Nassau Suffolk Services for Autism?
Nassau Suffolk Services for Autism (NSSA) is seeking Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to join our expanding team. In this role, you'll provide 1:1 support to individuals in a classroom , implementing individualized treatment plans based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 behavioral support using ABA principles
- Implement individualized behavior plans under supervision of a BCBA
- Collect and record accurate data to track client progress
- Assist with activities of daily living (e.g., toileting, self-help tasks)
- Communicate effectively with families, supervisors, and interdisciplinary team
- Support individuals with challenging behaviors using safe and approved techniques
Required Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals with developmental or behavioral needs
- Understanding of ABA principles and data collection
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift/push/pull 50 lbs or more and support physical needs
- Reliable and punctual attendance (Monday–Friday)
Preferred Qualifications:
- RBT certification (preferred, but not required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, or related field
- Valid NYS driver’s license and clean driving record
