Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Supports finance initiatives and sees objectives through to completion
- Records journal entries, analyzes data, and runs queries within the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Expense Management system, administration systems, and related databases
- Prepares account reconciliations and certifies to the accuracy and completeness of financial information
- Works with various finance functions including expense management, accounts payable, financial reporting, operations accounting, reinsurance and internal audit to understand and improve processes
- Assists in preparation of quarterly and annual GAAP and STAT financial reporting and analysis
- Supports the preparation of financial statements and disclosures, ensuring supporting documentation is in line with company policies
- Assesses departmental processes and makes recommendations for improvements and efficiency
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Applicants should be pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong technology skills and use of various applications/software (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint Peoplesoft, MS Office)
- Team player with the ability to work independently in fast-paced dynamic environment
- Knowledge of insurance and financial markets a plus
- Detail-oriented and solid decision-making skills
- Ability to identify and elevate potential issues (accounting, reporting, reconciliation etc.)
