Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Analyze system issues when reported to determine scope, impact and priority. Document Service Request with clear detail, including interpretable description and requirements, for requested action. Collaborate with IT and appropriate business area to implement solutions.
- Document and maintain business requirements and validate with relevant Operations area in support of system implementations including scheduled and non-scheduled baseline, project/product and infrastructure and other releases.
- Create and execute comprehensive user acceptance test plans in support of system implementations and document results. Provide input on test strategies and QA test plans as needed. Complete pre/post-deployment testing on affected systems, user interfaces and correspondence/reports.
- Elevate corporate and customer related risks regarding system issues and business process gaps, along with potential solutions and recommendation for strategic and tactical approach as appropriate.
- Provide input on service request priority and scope of scheduled system implementations. Maintain priority list and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure relative priority of each item and with IT Platform Manager in preparation for upcoming implementations.
- Assist with operational tax responsibilities including but not limited to calculating tax gains, understanding tax implications for non-qualified and qualified insurance products; liaison between Nassau and our third-party tax vendor administering tax documents
- Actively participate in projects by collaborating, reviewing and providing input on all relevant project documentation, elevating issues and risks to business lead and project manager as appropriate, creating and executing test plans with documentation and communication of results.
- Take accountability and ownership for fulfilling job responsibilities, drive self-development through continuous learning and additional assignments, communicate gaps in coverage, and support the development of others to reduce single person dependencies.
- Assist with tax processing if/as needed
- Partner with Training Director to manage “Service Skills Library”, compile training documentation and conduct training for specific audiences if/as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Solid communication, analytical, problem solving, decision making, collaboration, and time management skills; independent working style and ability to work beyond normal business hours. Write and speak clearly and succinctly. And customize communication appropriately to the audience.
- Working knowledge of administrative systems (i.e., LIDP, Servidata, HomeComm, LifeComm and TPA Systems such as Orion, Onbase, VPAS and others) and interfacing systems (i.e., illustration systems/models, LifeSuite/E-App, Compass, Web and others) preferred
- Strong knowledge in Life and Annuity products, past and currently sold, and supporting business processes; ability to interpret policy contract verbiage and other documentation
- Working knowledge of MicroSoft applications including Word, Excel, Access and other desktop tools and applications
- Working knowledge of repositories such as Mobius, File Net, Content Server and others including associated workflow (i.e., Open Text) and system generated correspondence
- Working knowledge in data reporting applications such as Policy World, Viewpointand other and ability to analyze results for trends, problem identification and scope definition.
- Understanding of upstream and downstream systems, interfaces and extracts.
- Understanding of tax implications on financial products as well as the various 1099’s issued. preferred.
- Ability to travel and/or work beyond standard business hours if/as needed
- Ability to interpret project documents, regulatory documentation, legal and compliance requirements and seek clarification appropriately when needed
