The Production Manager is responsible for leading day-to-day plant production operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and continuous improvement objectives. This role partners closely with plant leadership to drive key performance indicators (KPIs), enforce Lean / Six Sigma standards, resolve production and scheduling challenges, and develop supervisory talent to sustain high levels of operational performance.
Essential Functions
- Lead and oversee daily production operations to ensure output, quality, cost, and schedule targets are consistently met.
- Monitor production KPIs and operational metrics; identify issues in real time and implement corrective actions.
- Resolve operating, staffing, scheduling, and production challenges to meet changing business demands.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean/6S practices, process optimization, and waste reduction.
- Partner cross-functionally with Planning, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams.
- Maintain accurate production, labor, attendance, and KPI reporting; review and approve timekeeping.
- Supervise, coach, and develop production supervisors and frontline associates in accordance with company policy and law.
- Ensure compliance with GMPs, food safety programs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and accountable work environment with a strong focus on safety.
- Bilingual Spanish preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree or technical training preferred.
- 5 years of experience in food manufacturing or confectionery production with supervisory responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience driving continuous improvement and Lean/ 6S initiatives.
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Experience managing large teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and basic math proficiency.
- Ability to work extended periods on the production floor and flexible scheduling.
