This full-time role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining automated welding and metal forming machinery used to create steel wire shelving for pallet racks for distributors and major retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and Lowes.
- Shift Schedule: Monday through Friday, 3:30 pm to 2:00 am (50 hours per week most weeks).
- Base Pay Progression: Starts at $25.50/hour, increases to $26.50/hour at 90 days, and reaches $27.50/hour after 1 year.
- Shift Differential: An additional $1.00/hour is added to the above base rates for the overnight shift.
- Overtime: Generous double-time pay for all hours worked over 40 hours in a week with a typical 50 hour work week.
- Average Annual Pay: 1 year pay rate with 50 hour work week including double time and shift differential is approximately $89,000/year
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Setup & Programming: Input data and adjust computerized production machinery within established standards.
- Equipment Operation: Set up and monitor automated welding and metal forming equipment.
- Maintenance & Quality Control: Perform minor and major preventive maintenance, conduct quality inspections against blueprint specifications, and rework non-conforming parts.
- Training & Reporting: Train other operators on safety and quality standards, keep accurate production counts, and complete daily paperwork.
Candidate Requirements
- Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, basic mathematical skills, and the ability to read a tape measure.
- Communication: Ability to communicate technical information and troubleshoot machine performance.
- Experience: Prior experience with computer-operated equipment setup is preferred.
- Screening: Applicants must pass a drug screen and a 7-year background check (covering both misdemeanors and felonies).
