Job Title: Forestry/Volunteer Coordinator Intern

Stipend: $3,000 (can be adjusted to hourly compensation by availability)
Duration: October - December with possible extension
Hours: Flexible, 15-20 hours per week ideal
About Us:
Our mission is to preserve and enhance Nashville’s urban forests by planting trees in urban
areas, identifying the oldest and largest trees in Davidson County, and educating the public
about the value of trees.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Forestry Intern to assist with volunteer coordination, tree planting
and maintenance, and data management to support our tree planting projects. This role
provides an excellent opportunity for students interested in environmental science, urban
forestry, and non-profit operations to gain hands-on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in volunteer coordination
- Support planting projects that may include watering, planting, site visits, and tree
maintenance
- Support community education and outreach efforts, including our annual Tree Spree
(tree distributions)
- Follow up on trees that have been given away through events to track survivability and
location
- Support Fundraising and Marketing efforts
Qualifications:
- Current student in Nonprofit Administration, Environmental Science, Forestry, Urban Planning, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Passion for environmental conservation and sustainability.
