Houseman’s primarily responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and general upkeep of the hotel.
The duties and responsibilities of a Houseman include:
- Clean and maintain public areas of the establishment like lobbies, hallways, and restrooms
- Assist room attendants by removing trash and dirty linens from guest rooms
- Restock supplies such as toiletries, linen and other amenities in rooms and common areas
- Respond to guest requests and complaints promptly and professionally
- Assist Front Desk with Guests
- Perform deep-cleaning tasks, like carpet shampooing or washing windows, as needed
- Move and arrange furniture, and turn mattresses periodically
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Chief Engineer
- May assist with laundry duties like washing, drying, and folding linens
- Also, any other duties that may arise
- Must be available weekends
Responsibilities
- Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects
- Assist with moving furniture and heavy equipment
- Maintain cleanliness of public areas, storage areas, and parking lot
- Support housekeeping staff and front desk with tasks as needed
- Perform routine minor maintenance tasks and repairs
- Comply with health and safety regulations
- Provide assistance to guests and respond to their requests
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a cleaning or general labor role preferred
- Physical stamina and mobility, including the ability to lift up to 25 lbs
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High school diploma or equivalent
