What are the responsibilities and job description for the Advocacy Manager position at Nashville Charter Collaborative?
Overview : The Advocacy Manager is responsible for identifying, activating, and continually engaging family members of students who attend Nashville’s charter schools. This position will develop family members as leaders in their communities to lead and execute initiatives aligned with the organizational mission of the NCC. The ideal candidate has experience with parent and community organizing and demonstrated ability to build collective power across lines of difference.
Key Responsibilities :
Community Organizing :
- Build and maintain relationships with local leaders, organizations, and other partners to strengthen community networks
- Conduct visits with charter school families and / or community members to cultivate relationships with key school stakeholders
- Coordinate and facilitate events, workshops, and meetings to raise awareness and increase participation in opportunities to advocate for issues that impact public school students, families, and educators
- Implement and lead advocacy campaigns that mobilize charter school families and lead to policy change at the local community, city, and / or statewide level
- Lead voter registration efforts in collaboration with NCC member schools and community partners

The NCC team works in a hybrid setting, with the option to work from home or use our Nashville office as desired. In addition, there are regular in-person meetings in the office, schools, or other settings. We are flexible on set business hours to meet the needs of our team members, but the role does require a daily (Monday to Friday) presence at predictable times. This role will have some evening, weekend, and holiday obligations.
Compensation and Benefits :
The NCC offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience. The salary range for this role is $55-65K, and benefits include paid time off, paid parental leave, and medical benefits. This position is eligible for the organization’s 401(k) plan with up to a 5% employer match.
