Treasurer (Part-Time)

Position: Part-Time Treasurer 

Department/Location: Central Administration Office/ Nashoba Regional School District

Hours: Hours to be determined; flexible schedule - 12-month position

Organizational Scope:

A member of the Central Administration Office team, this position works closely with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent of Finance, Operations & Safety and Director of Human Resources.

Position Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for receiving, disbursing, and investing all money received by the District; as required
2. Maintains and furnishes records to the Finance Department;
3. Maintains a record reflecting the breakdown of all receipts, disbursements, and cash balances
4. Provides for adequate funds for current obligations, including safekeeping of all funds and issuing of all long-term debt;
5. Pays and accounts for all amounts due for salaries and wages;
6. Receives and accounts for and disburses all payroll and personnel deduction amounts, 
7. Files required state and federal tax forms, in a timely manner
8. Ensures compliance with provisions of state and federal reporting requirements and laws
9. Maintains custody of all funds
10. Prepares reports, as required, of cash transactions, receipts and balances and reconciliation
11. Responsible for closing and reconciliation of all books and accounts in the Finance office; including warrants, bank accounts, retirement funds, debt records and tax accounts.
12. Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications & Physical Demands:

1. Must possess an Associates Degree or higher in related field; with at least three years of responsible experience in business or public finance;  
2. Experience in a public setting highly preferred;  
3. Proficient using Google and Microsoft Office products;  
4. Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks;  
5. Must be able to communicate effectively both in writing and orally;  
6. Must work in a professional manner and serve as a productive team member while working cooperatively with colleagues and the community.
7. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation;
8. Must be able to walk and stand on tile flooring for up to 1-2 miles per day, lift up to 25 pounds, bend and twist regularly at the waist, knees and neck.
