Duties

• Lead and supervise retail sales teams, fostering a positive and productive work environment through effective training, coaching, and employee orientation.
• Manage daily store operations including inventory control, merchandising, stocking, and POS (Point of Sale) system management to ensure smooth transactions and accurate record-keeping.
• Oversee purchasing decisions, pricing strategies, and inventory management to maximize sales opportunities while minimizing shrinkage.
• Conduct interviewing and recruiting activities to build a talented team aligned with company standards; participate in onboarding and ongoing staff development initiatives.
• Handle cash handling procedures, payroll processing, bookkeeping tasks, and shift management with precision and accountability.
• Implement operational policies related to customer service standards, cashiering, phone etiquette, and organizational skills to enhance the shopping experience.
• Monitor sales performance metrics regularly; utilize basic math skills for budgeting, sales analysis, and retail math calculations to inform decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and store policies; communicate effectively with team members using managerial communication skills.
• Support management in supervising store activities during shifts, including supervising employees’ tasks related to merchandising, stocking, inventory management, and customer service.

Experience

• Proven management experience within the retail industry or grocery store environment with a strong background in sales team supervision.
• Demonstrated success in retail sales management with familiarity in POS systems, inventory control, merchandising, and operational procedures.
• Experience in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding new employees, and conducting training & development sessions.
• Strong organizational skills combined with excellent communication abilities; bilingual or multilingual skills are highly desirable for diverse customer engagement.
• Previous assistant manager or supervisory roles that involved managing payroll, bookkeeping tasks, cash handling, and shift operations are preferred.
• Knowledge of retail industry standards including pricing strategies, retail math calculations (such as profit margins), inventory management techniques, and store management best practices.
• Ability to lead teams effectively through motivating staff while maintaining high levels of customer service excellence; familiarity with managerial communication is essential.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
