Job description: Youth CounselorWe’re looking for enthusiastic, responsible High School / college-aged counselors who enjoy working with kids in a fun, active environment. This role requires flexibility, communication, and most importantly, a genuine interest in working with kids. Counselors help lead games and activities, support children, and create a space where children feel welcome, safe, and excited to return. This is a great opportunity to build leadership skills, gain experience working with youth, and be part of a supportive team. Ideally, consistent staffing will lead to an increase in programming! This is a chance not just to get some hours and get paid, but to be a part of a growing department with opportunity to grow.
Schedule & Commitment
- Weekend availability for drop-ins / special events TH, Fri, Sat, Sun
- Some weekday availability depending on event / schedule
- Opportunities for additional hours as new programming is introduced
Key Responsibilities: Youth Supervision & Engagement
- Supervise children during drop-ins / special events
- Actively engage kids in games, activities, and structured programming
- Be a role model! Respect, teamwork, and inclusivity
Program Support
- Assist with setup, facilitation, and cleanup of activities and events
- Support lead staff in implementing daily schedules and lesson plans
- Flexible to meet the needs of different age groups
Safety & Professionalism
- Maintain a safe environment by following program policies and procedures
- Monitor child behavior and address issues calmly and appropriately
- Respond to minor injuries or incidents and report concerns to supervisors
Communication & Teamwork
- Communicate effectively with kids, families, and staff
- Work collaboratively with other counselors and Directors
- Represent the program positively at all times

- Weekend availability for drop-in programs is encouraged
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in education, recreation, child development, or related field (experience is a plus but not necessary)
- Experience leading group activities or managing youth behavior
- Interest in long-term involvement as the program grows
