Performs a variety of building and grounds renovation, repair and maintenance work and may work independently or on a team and perform semi-skilled to skilled mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, landscaping and other building and facilities maintenance duties.
Work includes repairs; electrical changes or equipment relocations; equipment movement/set up involving technology and HVAC; moving office and facilities operations' arranging, assembling and repairing furniture; preparing and installing building signs; painting parking lot stripes; and related maintenance support tasks. Work requires independence and initiative and knowledge of trade practices and skills. The employee is subject to hazards in the work including exposures to vibrations, proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working in high places, exposure to chemicals, fumes, odors, dust, mists, gasses and oils. The worker is also subject to work in close quarters such as crawl spaces and small electrical rooms. Work is performed under general supervision and is reviewed for lasting quality, appearance and functionality through conference, inspection, and records.

Repairs and maintains plumbing fixtures, unclogs drains, installs valves, and repairs leaks to bathrooms and kitchen plumbing fixtures; installs new fixtures; changes out water heaters and faucets.
Repairs and replaces electrical fixtures such as light fixtures, ballasts, outlets, switches, etc; installs electrical and technology wires and cables.
Repairs roofs, hangs doors, changes out or repairs locks, hangs bulletin boards, repairs walls, ceilings, floors, cabinets, ramps, steps, furniture; assembles furniture.
Assists with HVAC work; monitors pressure and keep records on water heaters; checks boiler fittings for pressure leaks; repairs compressor and electric pumps; adds chemicals to prevent pipe corrosion.
May perform custodial and grounds maintenance as needed. Mows grass, removes leaves, weeds, trims shrubs and prunes trees.
Arranges rooms and moves furniture to set up for meetings or for changes in room arrangements.
Performs standard renovations of rooms such as installing or removing light or plumbing fixtures, painting, repairing or plaster walls, repairing roof leaks, laying carpet, install/repair wood flooring, installing coat racks and bulletin boards; repairs furniture and paints.
Maintains necessary records including completing work orders.
Obtains parts and supplies as needed.
Paints interior and exterior surfaces, furniture, parking lot markings, etc.
Fabricates and installs a variety of signs.
May provide oversight and lead a project in the absence of the supervisor.
