This is a full-time, on-site role for an Accountant at Nash County Public Schools in Washington, DC. The Accountant will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks including preparing financial reports, maintaining records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and ensuring compliance with fiscal policies and regulations. Daily duties include managing accounts payable and receivable, preparing budgets, conducting financial analysis, reconciling bank statements, and supporting audits.
- Accounting and financial reporting skills
- Experience with accounts payable and receivable management
- Proficiency in budgeting and financial analysis
- Bank statement reconciliation and audit support skills
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or other relevant certification is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
