- Develop, interpret, and implement security-education-related training programs and materials.
- Ensure compliance with NASA's Information and Industrial Security Programs; collaborate and coordinate internally and externally to identify best practices in information/Industrial security.
- Manage security programs to protect classified and sensitive information; promote efficiency in information creation, classification, safeguarding, handling, and use.
- Monitor execution of security plans and recommends action necessary to recognize excellence and/or to resolve problems.
- Review initial and periodic compliance and performance survey reports, advises acceptance, modification, or rejection of specific recommendations to manager and other program officials; and develops alternatives for required corrective actions.
- Evaluate sabotage and theft vulnerability studies and assures that the results are integrated into security plans.
- Conduct surveys of security programs as well as special investigations of incidents involving security interests.
- Conduct criminal investigations and serve as an armed NASA Federal Agent with arrest authority.
