What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Engineer - AST, Engineer Program Management (Direct Hire) position at NASA Headquarters?
As a Program Executive (PE), you will be responsible for providing leadership and coordination in support of NASA's High-End Computing Capability (HECC) Portfolio. You will provide oversight, coordination, management, planning, monitoring, and implementation of HECC as a NASA-wide capability. You will develop strategies for sustainable data science and computing organizations, ensuring robust services, infrastructure, data governance, and capability development that support NASA's mission.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.NASA utilizes OPM-approved qualification and rating requirements specific for Aerospace Technology (AST) positions which recognizes NASA's unique aerospace work. The specific qualifications and minimum education requirements are further described below and within the education section of the job announcement.
To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:
- Leading and managing long-term program planning efforts, encompassing the establishment of performance metrics, schedule analysis, and the implementation of processes that support scientific and technological program activities;
- Developing and applying strategic concepts, integration plans, and program management frameworks to advance program goals;
- Managing or supporting high-performance computing environments and large-scale computer infrastructures.
