Narratent Digital Marketing is seeking a Paid Search Specialist to support a growing Chicago-based client with a primary focus on managing and optimizing paid search campaigns, and internal campaigns for its agency and studio brands.
This is a part-time contractor role ideal for someone with strong Google Ads experience who enjoys both execution and strategy. We’re looking for someone who can not only manage campaigns effectively, but also serve as a thought partner to our leadership team as we continue expanding our paid media capabilities.
We are specifically seeking someone based in the Chicago area who values relationship-building, communication, and long-term collaboration.

Role Overview
This role will require approximately 25–30 hours per month with ongoing campaign oversight, optimization, reporting, and strategic collaboration. You’ll primarily oversee Google Ads campaigns focused on lead generation, local search visibility, conversion optimization, and campaign efficiency.
The ideal candidate has agency experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate strategy clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Conduct keyword research, audience research, and competitive analysis
- Build, launch, monitor, and optimize Google Ads campaigns
- Manage campaign structure including campaigns, ad groups, keywords, audiences, and targeting
- Write and optimize ad copy for performance
- Implement and monitor conversion tracking through Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and related platforms
- Analyze campaign performance and recommend strategic optimizations
- Conduct A/B testing on ad copy, landing pages, and campaign structures
- Improve CPC, CTR, conversion rates, and overall campaign efficiency
- Create weekly and monthly performance reports with actionable insights
- Collaborate with internal creative, strategy, and web teams
- Help educate and guide the team through paid search best practices and evolving platform trends
Qualifications
- 3 years of hands-on Google Ads / Paid Search experience
- Agency experience strongly preferred
- Experience managing local and lead-generation campaigns
- Strong understanding of Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
- Experience with Google Tag Manager and conversion tracking setup
- Ability to interpret campaign data and make strategic recommendations
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience working independently while maintaining responsiveness and accountability
- Based in Chicago or surrounding areas preferred
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Meta Ads is a plus
- Familiarity with Looker Studio or dashboard reporting tools
- Experience supporting multi-location businesses
- Experience collaborating with creative and web development teams
- Understanding of CRO (conversion rate optimization) principles
Compensation: Hourly rate based on experience
